Since September 21, 1996

Homer before craft beer was cool.

A homebrew cooperative, a few people determined to make a living in Homer and thirty years of traditional country ales.

How it started

Beer, work and a place worth staying.

Homer Brewing Company began with the renaissance of beer across the U.S. and a desire to carve out a livelihood in Homer.

Through the original Q & Q Guild homebrew cooperative, Steve McCasland, Lasse Holmes and Karen Berger combined their talents and love of beer to create Homer Brewing Company.

The brewery opened on September 21, 1996. It has welcomed locals and visitors to its taproom and outdoor seating most every day, year-round, ever since.

Classics over trends

Unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally conditioned beer remains the backbone of the operation.
