September 21, 1996 → September 21, 2026

Thirty years at the end of the road.

Homer Brewing Company reached its 30th anniversary in 2026, still centered on Homer, traditional styles and beer built with time.

It started with homebrew.

The brewery's own history traces its beginning to the Q & Q Guild, an original Homer homebrew cooperative. Steve McCasland, Lasse Holmes and Karen Berger brought their talents and love of beer together to create Homer Brewing Company.

The brewery opened on September 21, 1996. That makes September 21, 2026 the 30-year mark.

Tradition became the identity.

Rather than rebuilding the lineup around every new trend, Homer Brewing became known for classic styles and its fresh traditional country ales. The brewery describes them as unfiltered, unpasteurized and naturally conditioned by live yeast in the keg.

Homer stayed at the center.

The taproom remains part of the experience: beer at the brewery, outdoor seating when conditions cooperate, outside food welcome and local restaurants pouring HBC around town.
