Homer, Alaska brewery guide

Beer at the end of the road.

Homer Brewing Company sits 220 miles south of Anchorage in a town where the road meets Kachemak Bay.

A small brewery built for Homer.

Homer Brewing opened September 21, 1996 and has welcomed locals and visitors to its taproom and outdoor seating for decades. The brewery is at 1411 Lakeshore Drive, away from the polished chain-brewpub formula and close to the working character that makes Homer feel like Homer.

What to expect

The focus is traditional ale. Homer Brewing describes its beers as unfiltered, unpasteurized and naturally carbonated through cask conditioning. A rotating beer is served through a traditional beer engine.

Food

There is no full kitchen. Snacks are available, and the brewery explicitly welcomes outside food. That makes it easy to pair a brewery stop with one of Homer's restaurants.

Beer to go

Growler sales are available. Beer shipping is not offered.
